Monmouth Town Football Club played host to their annual Junior awards night last Friday (15th June).
Managing to avoid the recent bad weather, more than 150 children and accompanying adults were able to enjoy a party atmosphere to end the season on a high.
Dave Uttley, chairman of the Junior section of the club, opened the evening by welcoming the children and guests to the clubhouse.
Dave said that with so many children playing football each week ranging in ages from four to 15 there is every opportunity to enjoy a game of football for every child in the Monmouth area, and with more than 20 skilled and qualified coaches there is no shortage of quality advice and encouragement from the sidelines.
Dave also paid tribute to the sad loss earlier in the year of Kevin Johnson.
Kevin had played a large part in bringing a new ethos to the junior section and his drive and determination to improve each and every young player will be a great loss.
The foundations that Kevin had put in place are now paying dividends each week, as the coaching and playing abilities of the junior section go from strength to strength.
