"The Full Challenge Solo, a 2km swim followed by a 10km cross-country run, was completed in an incredible winning time of one hour, 13 mins and 26 seconds." Club chairman Sarah Pettit said: 'This was very much a community event and we would like to thank a number of people and organisations that helped us make this race happen. "The sponsorship we received from Jewel Balti, Monmouth, enabled us to have 'Chip Timing', essential for efficient and accurate competitor timing and of great importance if this race is to become a regular event on the sporting calendar. "Also, many thanks to Monmouth Canoe Club, who kept everyone safe in the water and to Irving Long of Troy Farm, who allowed the competitors, access to run across his land and through the farmyard. "Thanks also go to Monmouth School and Monmouth School Sports Centre for the access and use of their excellent sports facilities. "Also to Monmouth & Ross Sea Cadets who provided some marshals, and to Lucozade Ribena Suntory, Coleford, who provided essential hydration for the drinks stations. "Last but not least, friends and family for all their help, allowing our club to organise and host what was an extremely successful event. We are looking forward to doing it all again next year."
