Monmouth Rotary Club is looking for sporting groups to explore the possibility of arranging an Olympics day for the town this summer.

Sporting and other groups are invited to an exploratory meeting on 16th February hosted to discuss the possibility of having an alternative Olympics day to demonstrate their sport and encourage others to join them.

It is up to the club or group to decide if their competitions will be serious or more light hearted.

It could be athletics, bowls, dance, petanque, walking, possibly girl guides, scouts or other youth groups making something or competing to finish a task in the quickest time.

There are many possibilities, but it will be limited to human endeavour. Get thinking about what your group could do and bring to Monmouth's Alternative Olympic day.

The meeting will be on Thursday 16th February at 6.30pm at the Royal Oak, Hereford Road.
