I am sure by now that you are aware of the threat to our rapid response vehicle in Monmouth, these resources are already under severe strain.

It is my belief that we have a moral duty to our local councillors, county councillors and politicians to assist them in their struggle to retain these vital services.

There is no need to remind you that we have an ageing community, an increasing community and our hospitals are now further away.

What on earth is the strategy behind this ludicrous decision? Is it monetary? Is it political? Or is it madness?

It may be necessary for our leaders to call a public meeting to vent and measure public concern.

Take a look at your close family and ask yourself which one of them will need urgent attention in the near future.

I urge you to take to the pen, email, facebook, call your councillors, local MP/MS, start a petition, our democracy is there to be used.

Mr G.A Bright, Overmonnow
