Last Wednesday evening, Monmouth travelled to Chepstow for an evening match, and during the warm-up, the players had to endure a snowy blizzard that left the pitch heavy underfoot.

Monmouth started with good endeavour, handling the ball well and moving it out to both wings. A scrum in midfield 40 metres from the Chepstow line saw Monmouth number eight Tom Stone pick up and feed scrum-half Ludo Thomas on the right-hand side. He glided through a gap in the defence, before throwing a lovely dummy and going past the full-back for a try under the posts, converted by Ben Samuels.

Monmouth continued to do all the attacking, with full-back Declan Trueman very prominent; unfortunately, there were three very good chances in which some lovely handling was not finished off. The Monmouth supporters hoped the missed opportunities wouldn't prove costly in the end.
