Wyesham WI met as usual in St James Community Hall, Wyesham for the October meeting.

President Daphne announced several dates for the diary including a lunch on October 24, a skittles night and the table top sale on Saturday November 19.

She also welcomed a new member and a prospective new member.

Secretary Jane showed the beautiful Remembrance wreath that has been purchased by members donating odd pennies over the year.

This will be Wyesham WI’s contribution to the Monmouth Remembrance Sunday parade and service on November 13.

The speakers for the evening were Sabira and Dawn from Monmouth’s much-loved shop, Hart’s.

The shop has been in its present form since 1972, but Hart’s was there long before that too.

Today, it is well known locally and beyond as the place to go for all your lingerie and swimwear needs and the latest and best in clothes, too.

They showed members the latest lingerie styles available in the shop and pointed out that they also stock some old favourites too.

Sabira gallantly modelled a few bras for us, while Dawn explained how to avoid fitting errors - make sure you get fitted properly!

Finally, they passed around a “feely box” and WI members tried to guess what item of lingerie was inside.

Everyone agreed this was a splendid evening and we all would go away having received valuable information from Dawn and Sabira.

Next month’s meeting will be at 7pm on Monday November 14.
