As Storm Goretti is underway this could result in dangerous weather leading to the increase in falls and injuries.
We spoke to Aneurin Bevan University Healthboard to hear how you can stay safe during these conditions.
“In the event of any adverse weather, we have a number of business continuity plans to ensure we can continue to provide safe care and protect our patients and staff.
“At this stage, no decisions have been made around cancelling services. We are monitoring the current situation and will continue to do so over the coming 24 hours.
“In the meantime, we would urge local residents to stay safe and vigilant in colder weather and to be mindful of slips, falls, particularly on black ice.
“We would also encourage people to look after each other and to check in on their vulnerable relatives, neighbours and friends to ensure they have everything they need. Checking that a vulnerable loved one is well and is not venturing out in adverse weather could keep them safe and help and avoid a hospital admission over winter.”
