SIR, May I give a huge thank you to the Monmouthshire County Council contract partners involved with the new water pipe laying in Monmouth, especially in the vicinity of Monk Street, The Parade and the Hereford Road junction with Osbaston Road. They are caring, pleasant and hard working. Thank you gentlemen. And regarding the question over the expected new swimming pool here in Monmouth. There has been no mention of a leisure centre to accompany the pool, which should be a worry. They have admitted that there is no money for a new swimming pool and they were very keen to take down trees and bushes for a third lane on the A40 but now have no money to carry out their plans.  It would appear that Monmouthshire council have a problem with forward planning, which is an even bigger worry.
