Work is progressing at Shire Hall, in the front 1724 section, masked by scaffolding. The roof is now stripped to expose the old timbers, where repairs will be made, to wood affected by rot and old insect infestation.

Standing by the timber skeleton of the main roof, John Hamner the project manager for the contractors Linford, shows a section of the timber to be replaced.

A monthly photographic record is taken of the work progressing in Shire Hall. Over one thousand images are included in the presentation, shown by the 'Shire Hall Stewards' to help raise funds for the community contribution required for match funding.

Any group or organisation wishing to see the photos, which are updated monthly, can book by phoning 01600 772686.
