A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital after being thrown from her horse into a ditch in Monmouth.

The woman was rescued from a small stream in Watery Lane at around 11am this morning.

Fire crews from Monmouth attended the scene. The woman was treated by paramedics before being airlifted to University Hospital Wales in Cardiff.
