Gwent Police is investigating an assault that occurred at approximately 3.05am on 31st December, in a subway near the Wye Bridge Lights at Monmouth.
The victim, a 31-year-old woman from the Monmouth area, was walking through the subway when she was approached by two men who pushed her over. She sustained bruising to the head.
Both offenders are described over five feet six inches and of slim build. One was wearing a light grey, long-sleeved, hooded jacket, and the other was wearing a dark blue, long-sleeved, hooded top. Both had scarves covering their faces.
Police are appealing for information or witnesses to the assault. Anyone who has information that could assist police officers is asked to contact Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers (anonymously) on 0800 555 111.
