A MONMOUTH woman has cut off hair she’s been growing for nearly 20 years for charity.

Katri Hastings, 22, selflessly braved the chop to raise money for the Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes wigs for brave children battling cancer.

Katri took the plunge on Thursday 12th November at Designed for Beauty, Monmouth and had her hair cut by mum Erica.

“I’m going travelling soon and needed my hair cut. As travelling is exciting I thought I’d do something equally as exciting and have my hair cut short.

“I’ve always had long hair, I’ve been growing it since I was four.

“I only used to go to the hairdressers once a year!”

Calm Katri took the cut in her stride but mum Erica Hastings said she felt “nauseated” cutting her hair. “I’m just so used to her having long blonde hair, she’s never had short hair!”

Monica Glass, charity manager of the Little Princess Trust, said: “How amazing to do so much for others!

“Everyone at the charity feels incredibly privileged to receive such a hair donation.

“We are very grateful indeed to Katri.

“Her lovely long hair will be blended with hair of a similar colour and style and will be made into a wig for a poorly child.

“Katri is truly amazing to be doing so much to help others.”
