Gwent Police is appealing for information to an assault on Bulwark Road in Chepstow.

It happened at approximately 2.15am on Sunday 24th April.

A man approached the female victim from behind and pushed her, causing her to fall to the floor.

The victim then heard someone shouting and the man ran away in the direction of Strongbow Road.

The female suffered minor injuries – grazing and bruising to her knee, lip and face.

The man is described as white, 5'10' tall, of a stocky build with dark hair.

He was wearing a long sleeved black top or shirt and dark denim jeans.

Shortly after the assault a green taxi passed by and the driver may have seen the male running away.
