The Monmouth branch of Gwent Wildlife Trust, is delighted to bring back their monthly talks.

The topic up for discusson on Monday October 17 is entitled: ‘White-tailed Sea Eagles: are they coming back to Monmouthshire?’

At last we are able to resume our winter season of wildlife talks.

In the first talk of this season, Sophie Lee-Williams will talk to members  about White-Tailed Sea Eagles and their possible re-introduction to Monmouthshire.

Sophie is the White-tailed Eagle project officer at the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.

It would be amazing to see these huge and magnificent birds on the Gwent Levels.

With a wingspan of eight feet, they are our largest bird of prey.  They were extinct in the British Isles by 1917, but have been successfully re-introduced to Scotland.

Come and see them and find out about them!

The illustrated talk will start at 7.30pm and it will last about 45 minutes, followed by questions.

Everyone is welcome, including non-members, and you don’t have to book tickets – just turn up.

Meetings are held in the Courtroom which can be a little uncomfortable, so do bring a cushion if you like!

The Courtroom is on the first floor of Shire Hall, at the top of Monmouth High Street.  (Lift available for wheelchairs.)

Suggested entry donation is £2.50. There is free car parking in the main town car park behind the building; the entry to it is opposite Monmouth Boys’ School.
