SIR,

I had a fantastic Saturday night at the Monmouth music festival. As usual, it was well organised, the sound and lighting were first rate and people were having fun.

I then paid a visit to the public toilets outside Handyman House. It was a pleasant surprise to see them open. Last year they were locked when several thousand festival-goers were in town!

It would appear the department within the council that makes sure they are open during the festival does not talk to the department that alters the timer on the lights. It was pitch black in there.

Inside the Gents there was rather a carnival atmosphere but with wetter feet. No emergency lights so obviously not a power cut.

Come on Council, to quote Terry Wogan, "Is it me........?"
