Agincourt Square was invaded yesterday (Tuesday 31st August) by a pair of giant wellies, as Environment Agency Wales raised awareness of flood risks in the Monmouth area.
As part of their 'Welly Boot Tour', the agency handed out action packs containing practical advise on what people should do in the event of a flood.
The agency were also carrying out door to door calls, handing out the action packs. They aim to visit 1200 homes in Monmouth over the next few weeks.
Gareth O'Shea, of Environment Agency Wales, said: "We are trying to get the community together so that they can prepare a flood plan.
"There are two criteria which we work upon and that is the area's risk of flooding and the community's awareness of the risk.
"Being surrounded by both the River Monnow and the River Wye, we believe that Monmouth falls into the top 70 of flood risk areas in Wales.
"Luckily, the rivers' water levels rise more slowly than those in more coastal areas, so we have the chance to send out warnings.
"But the more prepared a community is, the more chance they have of helping themselves, so the key thing is awareness raising."
