TWO Monmouth town councillors have visited France to help promote the town, and Monnow Bridge in particular.
Cllr Richard Bond and Cllr Chris Munslow spent the Spring Bank Holiday in Landerneau, Brittany.
The French town is celebrating 500 years since the construction of its river bridge, and welcomed representatives of 13 of the 40 or so towns across Europe with similar bridges.
Mayor Patrick Leclerc officially opened the celebrations, which are planned to finish at the end of September.
