May I, through your letters page, take the opportunity to thank all of those people in the town who voted for the Monmouth Party candidates who stood at the local elections last week?

Despite only forming our party in late March, we were heartened to receive so much support and to have one of our candidates, Terry Ashton, elected to represent the Town Ward.

We will continue in our endeavours to fulfil the pledges made in our election leaflet, particularly regarding contact with the public.

Indeed, we will be pressing the Town Council at the earliest opportunity to initiate regular surgeries at the Shire Hall.
