AIR raid sirens, Anderson shelters, recipes and rationing were all part of the WW2 day in year six at Whitchurch School last week.  The children dressed as evacuees, made gas mask boxes, wrote with ink pens and cooked some real wartime recipes.  The day gave them a fantastic insight into how school was different during the war years.  One pupil was delighted to be living in the 1940s for a day, but was a little unsure about the carrot fudge they made - chocolate was definitely better!
