I have recently been in touch with Alexandra Lowe, an Associate Producer at ITV, who would like to hear from anyone who remembers September 3rd 1939 and/or has photos or a home video from around this time.

ITV are making a documentary to commemorate the outbreak of WWII.

They would like to hear from people who were evacuated on that day or have an interesting story to tell about something that happened to them that day; from people who had an interesting experience during the war (eg went to stay in, or even returned in later life to the place to which they were evacuated even though initially they didn't like it, etc; lost all their own family and stayed with their host family after the war; who was on holiday abroad and had to return suddenly when war broke out; witnessed something important etc.
