SIR,

Trade was brisk as Usk's Thursday Produce Market re-opened for its new season, where an enthusiastic crowd gathered at Usk Conservative Club to avail themselves of the fine produce on offer.

The tables were laden with a superb display of mouth-watering cakes and bakes, preserves and honey, craft items and an extensive range of locally grown vegetables, flowering plants and cut flowers.

The market, held every Thursday from 10am to 12noon, offers visitors the chance to purchase the freshest of produce from small scale, local growers and producers; much of the seasonal fruit and veg on sale being picked or dug from the garden less than 24 hours prior to sale.
