Sir,
Well said Mr Cameron in your recent speech to your party. Indeed all under 25-year-olds should be earning or learning.
But how is this possible when companies will lure them on internships, with little if any remuneration and then after six months knowingly and happily reject them, to then take on yet another desperate under 25-year-old?
We have also found that our very own British Marks and Spencer will hire on a temporary basis, knowing that after six months these youngsters can be dismissed. To hire them would commit Marks and Spencer to an additional 40p per hour and a permanent contract.
Is this the type of respect we should be setting for our future generation? It is certainly not what I have instilled in my family; if you work hard you should be rewarded.
