THEATR Silures put on its adaptation of Under Milk Wood in Monmouth's Nelson Gardens last Friday evening (10th July). The company's open air performance of Dylan Thomas' famous radio play was watched by more than 100 people in the gardens off Chippenham Fields. With Monmouth's Graham Bryant taking the part of the narrator, it left John Weldon, Pete Morgan, Adrian Bevan, Sarah Jayne Hopkins and Jude Lewis to play the numerous roles of the villagers of Llareggub. The performance saw constant role, dress and props changes, all carried out in the minimalist theatre created with just a washing line, five chairs and a few baskets in which to keep the props. Under Milk Wood was well received with excellent performances by all the cast, putting in both comic and serious performances throughout the show.
