A SERIOUS road traffic collision near Raglan on Tuesday morning left two people in hospital.

A 51-year-old lady and a 82-year-old man were both taken by ambulance to Nevill Hall hospital.

While the female has been released the male still remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at shortly before 8.15am to reports of a two-car road traffic collision near Raglan Castle, Monmouthshire.

“We sent a Wales Air Ambulance, two emergency ambulances and two rapid response cars and a man and a woman were provided with treatment, before being taken by road to Nevill Hall Hospital in a stable condition.”

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “The road was closed for three hours whilst recovery was underway.

“Anyone with any information is asked to please call 101 quoting log number 71 20/06/17”
