Raglan has been presented with a panoramic picture of the village in France with which it is twinned.

The president of the Raglan and District Local History Group, Anna Tribe, presented the picture of Parcé-sur-Sarthe, in the Pays de la Loire, France to Jana Lewis of the Beaufort Arms, where it will hang for now until the new community hall is ready.

The picture is a panoramic view of the village by Michael Le Paillet celebrating the twinning of the two villages in 2010.

Also present was the chairman, Dr Brinley Morgan, vice-chair Roland Ward, secretary Jenny Thomas and treasurer Jerry Jacobs and a representative of the twinning committee, Sarah Griffiths, who all toasted the handover with a glass of sparkling wine.

Over the past three years, there have been exchanges between the two communities and at the end of August, a group of Raglan residents will be visiting Parcé-sur-Sarthe to be hosted by their community.
