Five months of building work has come to an end at Usk Veterinary Centre, which has been extended and modernised to improve the existing facilities.
By completing the work in two phases, the provision of full veterinary services was accomplished: one half of the building was in use while the other was being altered, with a change of ends at half-time in July.
Clients and staff have responded well to the difficult circumstances, and everyone is looking forward to the new dawn.
The changes have enabled a more spacious waiting room, separate kennelling for cats and dogs, extra consulting facilities, more streamlined clinical arrangements and a dedicated isolation unit for pets with infectious diseases.
Wildlife television presenter Kate Humble will conduct the official opening at midday on Remembrance Sunday (13th November), when visitors will be welcome to view the new facilities.
Those who wish to remain in town may want to support the annual Remembrance Day procession that parades through Usk during the afternoon.
