POLICE in Monmouthshire are this week carrying out an inquiry into the sudden death of a well known Monmouth man.
Details of the death were, on Tuesday, still sketchy, but a police spokesman confirmed to The Beacon that two men had been arrested in connection with the man's death.
We understand the dead man is Steven Morris (25), who lived in the Wyesham area of the town.
He and his partner, Tammy, and their two daughters lived in the Wyesham area of Monmouth.
His body was apparently found in a flat at Pitman's Court, not where he lived, in Monmouth, during the early hours of Thursday morning.
The finding prompted the launch of a massive police probe and a statement was issued by a police spokesman, which said:
"Gwent Police is investigating the unexplained death of a 25 year old man from the Monmouth area.
"A 32 year old local man and a 31 year old man have been arrested in connection with his death and are assisting police with their enquiries.
"They have both been bailed pending further enquiries. Investigations are ongoing into the cause of his death."
Gwent Police are appealing for information to a fatal road traffic collision, which occurred at approximately 9.45am Saturday October 4, 2008.
The body of 38 year old Mark David Williams with his motorbike was discovered on Wednesday October 8, 2008 by a local man in a remote field in Howick, just outside Chepstow (along the B4235).
Enquiries have established that Mark was travelling from his home address in Yorkley, Gloucestershire via Chepstow to pick up some building supplies then onto Shirenewton to a job.
Police are treating the death as an unexplained road traffic collision and enquiries are ongoing into the cause.
Anyone with information or who was in the area between 9.45am and 10.00am and may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Gwent Police on 01633 838111 or the Collision investigation Unit 01633 643091.
The 22 year old daughter of the Venerable Richard Pain, the Archdeacon of Monmouth, and his wife Julie was found dead at her home on the Hereford Road on Sunday.
News of her sad and unexpected death was announced to parishioners at St Mary's Church, Monmouth, on Sunday morning.
Amy Pain was described by a family friend as "a very quiet and private little girl" who enjoyed family life.
A police spokesperson said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
