SIR,
Why does Monmouth look so drab, dull and unwelcoming?
Where is the colour? Where are the flowers?
Just as last year there are many empty hanging basket supports and although the planters have improved a little there is still no splash of colour to brighten us up and help make Monmouth look as though someone really cares.
St James' Square, St Thomas' Square and Church Street have an array of flowers. Why aren't there any on the town's main street?
From arrival over our new bridge (which, incidentally, if in France would be awash with flowers) our town looks sadly neglected.
The plants in the car park are not looked after and we have lost all the trees that were planted on the grassy area due, I fear, to neglect.
Graffiti is appearing once more. Does no one care?
Monmouth could be made such an attractive town. We have so much of interest to offer and we are supposed to be welcoming visitors.
Why does it look so miserable and uncared for?
