SIR,
I wrote before Christmas to make known that a special Christmas Day lunch was being arranged at Wyesham Christian Fellowship for those who would be either lonely or in need.
I am now writing to report that we had a wonderful time and to thank the churches, businesses and individuals who supported the venture, whether by giving food, finance, or time. This included the impromptu (but talented) music group that turned up after the lunch and brought proceedings to a lovely close.
We were able to achieve the objectives with several attending the lunch that would have otherwise been alone.
In so doing we received far more than we gave, experiencing a sense of joy as we sought to follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ.
That must be appropriate, for Christmas is something to do with Him, isn't it? Many thanks,
lan Roberts
