SIR,

I must say that for all the millions squandered on the new town hall, they could have at least fixed the clock.

Because I turned up to the pub at the wrong time as shown by that clock, the barkeep told me that supper was no longer being served.

My lady companion and myself went hungry and I felt it must be known that this cannot continue.

We feel robbed of time and supper.

I now have had to buy my own timepiece to best inform me of the hour.

Do they not realise that many people see this clock as a central pillar of organisation within Monmouth?

It must be fixed and I hope this letter saves others from the peril I found myself in.
