A TOTAL of £5,600 looks set to be awarded to good causes across the county.

Monmouthshire County Council’s (MCC) Cabinet will meet this Wednesday (4th November) to discuss applications for grant funding.

The grants are provided by the Monmouthshire Welsh Church Fund set up to aid the advancement of education and religion, the relief of poverty, art, libraries and museums and other schemes beneficial to the community.

Groups likely to receive funding include: Little Mill and District Women’s Institute, St Arvans Community Plan Steering Group, Kids Cancer Charity (formerly known as the Christian Lewis Trust), The Children’s Cancer Trust, St Mary’s Church in Llanvair Discoed, St Mary’s Church in Undy, St James Church Wyesham, Monmouth Music Theatre and Birbeck Road Park Regeneration Group.

Applications for the Welsh Church Fund are considered seven times a year and are open to Monmouthshire residents and any organisation operating within the county.
