More than 500 Scouts plus their Leaders held a service to renew their Scout Promise at Raglan Castle on 26th April led by Alex Hawkins the lead volunteer for Monmouthshire Scouting.

The service, conducted by the Rev Sarah Rosser, followed presentations to leaders and young people for many Scouting achievements including a shield for the winners of the Cub Scout Quiz, and certificates for service awarded to leaders.

The Parade concluded with a message of thanks and encouragement from the Lord Lieutenant of Gwent, Brigadier Robert Aitken CBE.

The proceeds this year from the “collection” will be donated to the young people from Monmouthshire who will represent them at the 2007 World Scout Jamboree in Poland.
