SIR,

What a good suggestion from Judith Carey in last week's Beacon (9th November) regarding Monmouthshire County Council taking a walk around The Burgage, Dixton Close and The Gardens.

I wonder how many people have actually seen the fruits of the permission of the planning committee in Dixton Close and The Gardens?

The Gardens has now lost most of its 'gardens', as houses have been squashed into so many of them.

Views from existing houses have been blocked; views which used to be of The Kymin are now onto the back of new houses.

The latest house is on a plot so small, there appears to be hardly any room to walk around the perimeter of the house.

Also, observe the pair of houses built in New Dixton Road, which have a wonderful view of the wall enclosing them, which is about the same height as the roof of the houses.
