High Sheriff Mike Harry presented a £1996.86 cheque to Monmouth Youth Project The Attik last Thursday on behalf of The Gwent Police Shievalty Trust. This will enable them to create two more private counselling rooms to help offer more young people with advice and support in a safe and confidential environment. The Attik is a dedicated facility providing 'drop in' resources for young people aged 9-25 years in Monmouth and the surrounding areas. More than just a meeting place - it's somewhere that also supports and encourages young people by providing information about activities, services and opportunities, with staff who will help them to access these and other services. The Gwent Shrievalty Police Trust is a registered charity, supporting local community projects, which help to promote a safer and increased quality of life for individuals living within the Gwent area. The Trust actively raises funds by grant applications, sponsorship and other community based fundraising activities, including the annual Shrievalty Cup golf event, which is supported by local businessmen and women.
