On Saturday morning, the Monmouth & District Group of Amnesty International held a street collection in Monmouth town centre.

We collected a total of £269.21 and so we say a big 'thank you' to local people for their generous support.

Amnesty International is a campaigning organisation that acts all over the world, it's purpose being to protect people wherever justice, fairness, freedom and truth are denied.

The Monmouth & District Group is one of about 260 Amnesty groups in the UK. Our local group participates in a variety of Amnesty campaigns, and all donations made to our group are sent to Amnesty International UK, to contribute to Amnesty's work in standing up for human rights and acting against abuses.

Again, thank you to all who donated towards this important work.
