MADAM,
Having attended the recent meeting called to discuss the end of "Meals on Wheels" as we know it, I would like to thank all the wonderful men and women volunteers who have been delivering meals in this district for so many years.
It appears they are to be cast aside and replaced by a "Chef Mobile?"
Gone will be the friendly chats, exchange of news and the only link with the outside world for many of the receivers of this service so appreciated by our senior citizens.
Social Services avoided questions of cost and their lengthy excuses and spin did nothing to allay our fears for the future.
