SIR,

May I take this opportunity to thank the staff at Images Hair Salon for the great care and kindness they showed to my mother when she was taken ill on their premises last Saturday? 

A paramedic promptly arrived and assessed that we needed an ambulance which failed to materialise after 45 minutes. 

The paramedic in attendance then decided to take Mum to Nevill Hall in the paramedic car.  As Mum is 91 years old, you can imagine the considerable distress this delay was causing both of us.  Thankfully she is now out of hospital and recovering.  How many more times is the ambulance service going to fail the people of Monmouth? Will it take the death of an old lady in a hair salon for things to improve?
