SIR,
I would like to say a special 'thank you' to our gritting personnel.
You have done a wonderful job in keeping our roads open during the past few weeks.
But I would also like to include those who went round with shovels putting salt on the pavements, men hand-clearing litter from verges and also putting tarmac in the worst of the holes which had appeared during the severe weather.
We are all most grateful.
