On the afternoon of Wednesday 14th August I fell in Agincourt Square outside the Punch House. Four passersby quickly pulled me up. Fortuitously, one of them was a care assistant, a young black lady, who guided me home, contacted the paramedics and, despite my pleas urging her to go, she stayed with me for about an hour until she judged I had recovered enough.

I was determined to send her a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates, but wasn’t sure where. I suspected she was on the staff at Ganerew Care Home and remembered her name as being Azzie(?). My wife phoned Ganerew with my story, expecting to be told that the carer would need to agree to have the details released, but the home was unable to assist.

I therefore hope you will publish my story and may it reach my benefactress, or at least be widely known.
