Now that Monmouth Women's Festival is over, the Festival Committee would like to use your columns to thank everyone who contributed to its success. Our aim was to celebrate International Women's Day by bringing significant women to Monmouth, and we were delighted that around 1,000 people attended the events we organised.
None of this would have been possible without the support of many people in Monmouth – sponsors, Friends of Monmouth Women's Festival, pupils from Monmouth Comprehensive School, Monmouth Town Council, and the shopkeepers who turned their windows pink with references to the festival. We thank them all.
Next year is the centenary of International Women's Day, and we will mark this in Monmouth with another festival. See you there!
