I would like to thank all those people who have emailed, written or telephoned me with their support for my decision to stand as an independent in the local elections in May.

The amount of encouragement I have received has reinforced my belief that I am doing the right thing for the people of Dixton with Osbaston.

The candidate nominations for the May elections have now been published. It is very pleasing to see so many people putting their names forward for both the town and county councils.

It is important that the electors use their vote wisely so that those selected put forward views that truly represent those of the people of Monmouth.
