SIR,
I spent last weekend with a friend in Monmouth.
On Sunday morning I went into town for my paper. I left my car near Wetherspoons, locked, and thought I had put my key in my pocket. However I must have missed my pocket and my keys landed on the floor.
When I came back to my car and realised I had no keys, I visited Wetherspoons to ask if my keys had been handed in, but no. I went back to the paper shop, but they were not there.
I then went back to Wetherspoons, but still no luck. I asked the young lady behind the bar how I could find the police station. She took me out the pub the back way and showed me which way to go. She said the station may not be manned but if not I would find a yellow box with a phone.
There were no police so I went to the box and lo and behold my keys were there on the top of the box. How very kind that the finder walked to the police station and left my keys.
Two super acts of kindness by the people of Monmouth. I don't know your names but many many thanks.
