SIR,

I wish to thank the driver of the vehicle which hit our dog on the Link Road last Tuesday morning (3rd May) for not stopping to pick her up.

There was no blame on the driver at all for the accident. The dog had shot off after a cat or a squirrel and if it had not been for the kind intervention of a passing motorist stopping and picking her up and getting her to a vet, it would have been highly likely she would have been hit again and killed because she was extremely disorientated.

She has damage to her lungs and abrasions but with the treatment she is having we fervently hope and pray that she will recover.

All I want to say to the driver now is: 'If this ever happens to you again, please stop and do what the kind motorist did, thank you'.
