Monmouth Tennis Club held their annual summer American Tournament on 3rd July.

The weather was glorious and the 15 players who took part enjoyed the run up to the Wimbledon men's final on Chippenham courts.

Play was fast and furious; some more furious than fast. The ultimate winner was newcomer Alison Lawrence, who won with 18 games.

Paul Woodhouse came second with 17 games.

Congratulations to the Monmouth ladies' team who won through to the final of the Cymru Kitchens Minor Cup against Caerphilly A team last week.

It was a very close match resulting in four rubbers each, eight sets each, 34 games to 30.

Monmouth will play Usk A team in the final, scheduled to be a home match in Monmouth.
