FOURTEEN-year-old Ceri Parris from Monmouth cooked her way into the regional final of Rotary's Young Chef of the Year competition held at Marling School, Stroud on Sunday.

She was competing against seven others in the final of a district competition, which attracted more than 120 competitors.

Ceri, a pupil at Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls, came second in the district final, but goes on with 16-year-old winner Lydia Goodfield, a pupil at Katharine Lady Berkeley's School at Wotton-under-Edge, to the Fillippo Berio-sponsored district final in Birmingham on 13th March.
