A talented 13-year-old equestrian rider at Monmouth School for Girls has been selected to represent the England Mounted Games team at The Royal Windsor Horse Show in May.

Heid White, from Year 9, has worked very hard and is one of only five children to be chosen from all Pony Clubs in England.

Held annually, the Home International Mounted Games Championship sees Pony Club members from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland competing for the prestigious title.

During a comprehensive four-hour trial, Heidi impressed the England judging panel to gain selection.

The opportunity to compete at a world-famous event like Royal Windsor is one of the highlights of a Pony Club member’s career.

Mounted Games is a popular equestrian discipline and requires a high level of confident, quick riding, agility, hand to eye coordination and teamwork.

Heidi and her team have won major competitions, such as Bath and West, Zones and West Haddon.

Heidi joined North Herefordshire Pony Club in 2017 where she quickly developed a passion for Mounted Games.

As an individual rider, Heidi was the Reserve English Champion in 2021.

Heidi will be performing and competing throughout the week at The Royal Windsor Horse Show and The Queen usually attends the event, which is very exciting.
