t was that time of year again for the Old Monmothians, where the serious fixtures have come to a close, the School have been faced, South Wales Hunt and the Gloucester Gipsies have been and gone, and hopes of winning the Cricketer Trophy have been ended.

Limited overs competitions are now the focus and on Sunday 31st July, the Old Monmothians participated in the inaugural Monmouth CC T12 Tournament.

This spectacle, consisting of 12 over innings per side, was hotly contested between Old Monmothians, Monmouth CC and Goodrich CC.

The first game for the OMs saw them come up against a competitive Goodrich side. Goodrich won the toss and batted first.

Some big hitting from Brown and O'Brien with a combination of poor bowling in the powerplays meant Goodrich got off to a flying start.

Messers Kellard, Bevan, Lawlor and Warwick ensured an OMs come back and Goodrich ended on a competitive 113 off the 12 overs.

The OMs opened the batting with a mixture of entertaining and cautious batting. Lawlor nudged the ball around for 27 while Williams displayed some agricultural yet flamboyant batting, yielding 30 off 18 balls.

This took the game away from Goodrich, and the Warwick brothers steered the OMs home with 1.1 overs remaining.
