Monmouth Comprehensive School Special Needs teacher Jim Edwards jets off to Switzerland later this month to take part in the Veterans Football World Cup. Jim, a teacher at the school for over 25 years, has been asked to player/manage a team to represent Wales at this prestigious International Tournament. Veterans football teams from all over the world will be taking part and Jim is sure his team will be in with a chance of bringing the World Cup trophy back to Wales for the first time. This season has been an interesting time for Veterans football in Wales with the formation of a new Welsh League and the first ever Wales v England match, which, incidentally, was staged at Mathern Vagabonds FC, where Jim plays his club football. Ironically, he 's been asked to manage the Welsh side at the World Cup Tournament, despite having turned out for English League in the recent Over 45s International match.
