A very successful third annual Ross Rotary Swimathon took place last month at Monmouth School Sports Centre.
The response this year was excellent with 20 teams taking part over two days.
The Rotary Club of Ross-on-Wye congratulated and thanked everyone who took part and supported the event.
The group winners, apart from Tudorville Boxing Club who unfortunately could not attend, were presented with their trophies at Monmouth School Sports Club on Sunday 27th November by President Philip Wilson.
They were;
Group 1 (age seven to nine years) – The Otters captained by Eleanor Smail
Group 2 (nine to 11 years) – Dolphin II captained by Matthew Smail
Group 3 (11 to 16 years) – HMSG captained by Amy Powell
Group 4 (over 16 years) – Tudorville Boxing Club captained by Patrick Carr
Group 5 (Competition swimmers age 16 and above) – Rogue Team captained by Caroline Jones

The teams' sponsorship money is shared 50/50 between their own causes and the Ross Rotary Charity Fund whose projects include; Breast Cancer Relief, First Responders (Heart Resuscitation), Merton House (Holidays for the elderly and disabled), Samaritans, Youth Clubs, Help for Heroes, Sea Scouts, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Tudorville Community Centre, Disabled Sport, Willow Trust (Freedom for the disabled on the water) and Shelter Boxes.
