Sir,
On Sunday 19th February, Sue Dean with her family and friends completed a mile sponsored swim to raise funds for two Cardiff hospitals; specifically for the pioneering UK 'after treatment telephone service' requiring specialist nurses at Velindre and a new digital mammogram machine at Llandough.
A year after being diagnosed with breast cancer, Sue is now well on the road to recovery.
Her positive attitude, accompanied by her physical fitness goals, has demonstrated the illness can be dealt with and hopefully overcome.
She added that the love and support of her family and friends gave her the strength to come through the challenges of the past year.
Donations can be text to 70070 with the message mrcc12, followed by an amount up to £10 or by cheque payable to The Rotary Club of Monmouth at Hyeyrie, Woodlands, The Narth, Monmouth NP25 4QT.
